About the Role

The Strategic Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a crucial role in driving the growth of our company by identifying, qualifying, and developing strategic business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and motivated individual with a keen understanding of the market and a talent for establishing strong relationships with potential global clients. This role involves working closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure a steady pipeline of high-quality leads and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation and Prospecting:

  • Identify and research potential clients and business opportunities through various channels, including industry events, networking, social media, and cold calling.

  • Develop and execute strategies for lead generation and prospecting to build a robust pipeline of qualified leads.

  • Utilize CRM tools to track and manage all prospecting and lead generation activities.

Qualification and Development:

  • Engage with potential clients to understand their business needs, challenges, and objectives.

  • Qualify leads based on established criteria to determine their fit and potential value to the company.

  • Develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in target organizations.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute strategic business development plans.

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new opportunities and refine strategies.

  • Assist in preparing and presenting proposals, pitch materials, and business cases to potential clients.


Job requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably within the pharma industry.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscape.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with clients.

  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong drive for results and achievement.

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and capitalizing on opportunities.

  • Experience in collaborating with global operating companies.

  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools; experience with Hubspot is a plus.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Fluent in German and English
