About the Role
The Strategic Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a crucial role in driving the growth of our company by identifying, qualifying, and developing strategic business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and motivated individual with a keen understanding of the market and a talent for establishing strong relationships with potential global clients. This role involves working closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure a steady pipeline of high-quality leads and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation and Prospecting:
Identify and research potential clients and business opportunities through various channels, including industry events, networking, social media, and cold calling.
Develop and execute strategies for lead generation and prospecting to build a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
Utilize CRM tools to track and manage all prospecting and lead generation activities.
Qualification and Development:
Engage with potential clients to understand their business needs, challenges, and objectives.
Qualify leads based on established criteria to determine their fit and potential value to the company.
Develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in target organizations.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute strategic business development plans.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new opportunities and refine strategies.
Assist in preparing and presenting proposals, pitch materials, and business cases to potential clients.
Job requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably within the pharma industry.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with clients.
Proactive and self-motivated with a strong drive for results and achievement.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and capitalizing on opportunities.
Experience in collaborating with global operating companies.
Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools; experience with Hubspot is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Fluent in German and English
